Introduction |
| On behalf of the planning committee,
we are excited to bring you the 2004 APAMSA National Conference in the world's
largest medical center--the Texas Medical Center in Houston. Our theme this
year is "Leading By Example." You will have the chance to meet
physicians and leaders who have dedicated themselves towards improving the
lives and health of Asian Americans. As a national organization, we have the opportunity to influence the lives of many Asian Americans but oftentimes we do not know where to start. This year, we have decided to implement a health fair in the Houston community. Our intent is to demonstrate the kind of potential we have when we work in hand with the greater Asian American community towards the same goal. As individuals and students, we can also start to help by educating ourselves about the health issues and needs facing the Asian American community. We have an exciting and informative set of speakers planned for you this year. Seminars will address issues in community and public health, research, international health, and leadership as Asian Americans in medicine. |
