Introduction
The Pre-Med workshop is designed to give undergraduates and high school students a heads up about medical school. It will be held on Friday evening of the conference (Nov. 12). Both students and parents are encouraged to come.

Schedule
5:15-6:00 PM: Registration. Mingle with admissions officers and medical students from across the country.

6:00-6:45 PM: Introductory speech by APAMSA founder B. Li

  • Misconceptions about the application process, medical school, and medicine
7:30 - 8:15 PM: Admissions Director
  • Description of a strong medical school candidate
8:15 - 8:30 PM: Break
8:30 - 9:15 PM: Parents and Students split into two groups
  • Parent Group
    • The cost of medical education
    • Alternatives to medicine if your child does not get in
  • Student Group
    • Discussion of student life, what to expect
    • Non-traditional tracks
    • Taking time off
    • Alternatives to medicine if you do not get in
9:15-10:00 PM: Discussion of extracurricular activities with both parents and students
