Our Constitution
 
 
 

To propose a resolution to the constitution, please do the following:

All Amendments are due two weeks before the national conference to . These amendments will then be sent to the Executive Committee and will be posted to the website a week before the conference. This gives each chapter the week before the conference to look over and discuss the proposed Amendments to the constitution. We request that you make a consensus decision re: the proposed amendments by your chapter so that the meeting can go more smoothly.

In your email, please send the old section of the constitution as well as the new proposed section to the constitution as a Word document. This will allow anyone to see the changes being made to the constitution with ease.

Proposing Amendments

  1. Must be approved by local chapter and regional directors of chapter.
  2. Sent in by Sept. 23rd to the President.
  3. Within 7 days of review by Board of Directors, will be sent to All Local Chapters.
  4. Requires quorum of 2/3.
  5. Requires affirmative vote of 2/3 for amendment to constitution and 50% + 1 for bylaws.
  6. Will follow Robert's Rules of Order.

Proposing Resolutions

  1. Resolutions establish APAMSA policies and regulations
  2. Must be sponsored or written by active member.
  3. Sent in by Oct. 6th to the Speaker of the House.
  4. May be discussed at the National Conference at the discretion of the President, time permitting.
  5. May be proposed at any time outside of the conference.
  6. Requires quorum of 2/3.
  7. Requires affirmative vote of 50% + 1.
