APAMSA forms new partnership with Asian Health Foundation (AHF)

August 11, 2007 - APAMSA is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Asian Health Foundation (AHF), a non-profit organization of APA physicians dedicated to improving the health and well-being of the Asian Pacific American community. They are dedicated to supporting us in our endeavors to improve the APA community. We are pleased to announce their generous sponsorship of our 2007 National Hepatitis B meeting, 2007 National Conference, and website/database services.

In addition to their generous support, we are launching our partnership together by sponsoring a funding opportunity for chapters interested in having a Hepatitis B talk at your school.  We are dedicated to educating medical students, physicians, and the community about Hepatitis B. To that end, we have arranged a grant opportunity to which all ACTIVE APAMSA chapters are eligible to apply. APAMSA and AHF will select a single APAMSA chapter to receive a sponsored Hepatitis B talk. AHF will arrange and pay for speaker travel and cover the program costs for a single APAMSA chapter.  The speaker will be identified by AHF from their prestigious list of AHF Hepatologist/Physician advisors, and will be an expert on Hepatitis B in Asian Americans. Applications will be reviewed based on responses to questions and demonstrated need. This Hepatitis B talk will also be CME accredited, and we would encourage you to invite community/academic physicians to the talk as well.  Additional schools may be selected to receive this funding opportunity at a later time, pending budgetary allowances as well.

To apply for this opportunity, please click here to fill out an application here by 5PM CENTRAL TIME SEPTEMBER 15, 2007.

We look forward to forging a promising partnership with the AHF.

Sincerely,

Kathy Lee, National President
Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association (APAMSA)
