Alex Tai is a third-year medical student born and raised in Houston, Texas. He was the president of the Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine APAMSA chapter in New Mexico. As the child of immigrants and refugees, his journey in medicine has deepened his commitment to ensuring displaced and underserved communities receive compassionate, trauma-informed care. He is passionate about equipping AANHPI medical students and physicians with the tools to address some of the most complex and nuanced challenges in healthcare. Outside of school, he enjoys cooking, exploring new restaurants, and spending time with his fiancée and their two cats, Joan and Lily.
