Jeri Tan, Mental Health Committee Member

Jeri Tan is a third-year at UMass Chan Medical School. Before medical school, she worked in community mental health and taught behavioral and emotional coping skills to at-risk youth. Her experiences from this role have shown her that mental and physical health are significantly intertwined, thus highlighting a need for increased mental health awareness and education. As a member of the National APAMSA Mental Health Committee, she hopes to reduce health disparities by increasing mental health resource accessibility, advocating for the well-being of patients and medical professionals, and combating the stigma against mental health in the AANHPI community.
