I am a rising third-year medical student at Nova Southeastern University Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine (NSUKPCOM) and the eldest daughter of Vietnamese immigrants. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition from the University of Texas at Austin, where I also worked as a medical assistant. During my gap years, I scribed in the emergency room during the COVID-19 pandemic and contributed to thoracic surgery research. As president of APAMSA at my school, I’ve been inspired to advocate for and uplift my community through culturally informed care and outreach. In my free time, I love traveling and hanging out with my dog, Miso!

Johnny Pham, a rising Senior at Binghamton University, is involved with his university’s Vietnamese Student Association and enjoys playing the Euphonium. In his free time, he loves going to the gym, traveling to new countries, and sharing a meal with friends and family.

Van Dexter Calo is a rising M3 attending the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix. He was born and raised in Mindanao, Philippines and later moved to the U.S. in 2006 where he lived in NYC and Chicago before settling in Phoenix, AZ. Van Dexter attended Arizona State University for his undergraduate studies majoring in Medical Studies with a certificate in Hospice and Palliative Care. During his gap year, he continued his work as a Community Health Worker (CHW) part of Asian Pacific Community in Action (APCA) to provide resources and advocate for health equity for the AANHPI community in Arizona. When he entered medical school, he has been active with the APAMSA chapter and later served as the Co-President in his second year. His passion lies in serving the community especially the underserved as part of the Primary Care Scholars Program at UACOM-P. Outside of school, Van Dexter enjoys traveling, content creation, and trying out new restaurants and cultural foods!

Hi! My name is Kelly Gan, and I am a rising junior at Washington University in St. Louis studying Biology and Anthropology. I am originally from San Diego and have been involved in immunology research and performance representation for minority Asian groups during my undergraduate years. With Singaporean/Malaysian roots, I am excited to serve on the Southeast Asian Committee to help other Southeast Asian premedical students find culturally resonant resources and to build a strong community of peers and mentors.

My name is Nayana (“nine-uh”), and I serve on the South Asian Committee for National APAMSA. I am passionate about fostering connections, empowering student leaders, and strengthening the vibrant community of Asian Pacific American medical and pre-medical students across the nation. Through collaboration, representation, and advocacy, I can’t wait to work with everyone on local and national levels to support the growth and success of our chapters and members!

Hi! My name is Anahat Dhillon, I recently graduated from The Ohio State University. I was part of our pre-health APAMSA chapter for four amazing years, most recently serving as Vice President. APAMSA has played such a big role in shaping my passion for community, cultural representation, and advocacy in healthcare, and I’m grateful to stay connected to that mission. Right now, I’m spending my gap year exploring new opportunities, growing both personally and professionally, and looking forward to supporting the work APAMSA does nationwide. Outside of that, I love traveling, photography, and trying new food spots.

Krishna Sinha is a third-year medical student at Mayo Clinic Arizona, originally from Phoenix. Outside of school, he enjoys traveling, painting, photography, playing music, listening to podcasts, baking, and keeping his Wordle streak. He has enjoyed co-leading the APAMSA chapter at Mayo and is excited to continue his involvement this year with the APAMSA National Committee!

Hey everyone! My name is Vasanthkumar Pattoor and I am a rising second year medical student at Lincoln Memorial University – DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine. I received two bachelor degrees in Biomedical Sciences and Public Health at the University of South Florida. Some of my favorite hobbies include cooking South Indian food and dancing Bhangra and Bollywood fusion. A fun fact about me is that I have an army of chickens back home. As a South Asian Committee Member, I am excited to see what we have in store for our members!
