Hello! My name is Eric Mao and I’m currently a medical student at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. I’m originally from Houston, TX, and did my undergraduate at Columbia University in Biology. I’m looking forward to working with the advocacy committee on continuing and furthering the great work that APAMSA does!

Hello! My name is Vanessa, and I’m an M3 at Albany Medical College. I was born and raised in NYC, and completed my undergraduate studies at New York University. Before medical school, I worked at an Asian American community health center in Chinatown, which broadened my understanding of social health disparities affecting the AAPI community in NYC—including language barriers, healthcare accessibility, and health literacy challenges. As your new APAMSA Advocacy Committee member, I’m excited to apply my knowledge and experience in immigrant health and health policy to increase awareness and drive action toward improving public health outcomes in the AAPI community.

I’m John P. Lee, an MS4 at the Penn State College of Medicine. I’m currently preparing to apply for neurosurgery residency as part of the class of 2026. My past involvement in National APAMSA has included serving as the Medical Education Director and a member of Advocacy Committee. I’m excited to continue advocating for the unique healthcare needs of our AANHPI community.

My name is Jessie and I’m a second-year med student at the University of Miami. Super excited to continue advocating for AANHPI communities and work with APAMSA to continue building on our strong foundation!
