Hi everyone! My name is Megan Jiao, and I am an incoming 4th year medical student at McGovern Medical School in Houston, returning from a research fellowship at the NIH. I am excited to serve as the Medical Education Director for 2024-2025 after previously serving as a member of the Advocacy Committee and co-president for my local APAMSA chapter.

Since then, I’ve acquired a diverse research background in digital health and emerging technology (e.g., virtual reality, serious games), health communications, behavioral economics, health policy, and the medical humanities. My goal is to become a multidisciplinary academic physician researching the use of innovative digital and emerging tech for clinical applications in neurology (especially neurorehab) and also broader social good, including AANHPI advocacy. I also have a special interest in teaching and education, especially for the topics relating to AANHPI affairs and the medical humanities, and I hope to incorporate that into my future career as well.

Outside of school, I enjoy exploring new places to eat with friends, listening to electronic music, playing video games and DnD, practicing aikido, and drinking way too much cold brew.
