Hi! My name is Ayush Shah, and I’m an incoming third-year student (M1) in the six-year BA/MD program at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. I’m passionate about mentorship, identity-driven leadership, and creating accessible, student-centered programming that supports peers at every stage of their medical journey. I’m excited to bring that same energy and purpose to the Leadership Committee this year! Outside of APAMSA, I’m committed to service work that uplifts underserved communities and advocates for mental health awareness. When I’m not studying or volunteering, I love discovering new music, exploring different cities, and trying local foods wherever I go.

I’m Elton Tong, a current M1 at Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine and Co-President of our local APAMSA chapter. I’ve called Hong Kong, the South, East Coast, and West Coast home—and now the Midwest too. Outside of medicine, I’m a music lover, coffee enthusiast, runner, and diehard LeBron fan. I’m truly honored to be part of National APAMSA and I’m excited to help bridge our rich cultural identities with the world of medicine.

Hi folks! My name is Christelle Bucag and I am a rising M3 at the Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine (FIU HWCOM). I did my undergraduate at Florida State University (FSU), and had the opportunity to study abroad for a semester at the University College of London. I joined National APAMSA as I am really passionate about Southeast Asian representation in medicine especially in the Southeastern US following my work in the Asian American Student Union at FSU and my current role as Class Council President for the FIU HWCOM MD Class of 2027. I previously reestablished the local APAMSA chapter at FIU HWCOM and served as president and I look forward to continuing that work on a broader scale. Outside of school, I like to cook, swim, play music, and dance Zumba (Live love 305 ~ Miami!).

Hi, I’m Kenny Wong, a first-year osteopathic medical student at A.T. Still University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona, and I received my B.S. in Environmental Science and Health at the University of Southern California (Fight On!). As a proud first-generation Chinese-American born and raised in the Bay Area, I am passionate about pursuing a career as a primary care physician, and I hope to be a supportive figure for others navigating their own paths in medicine. I joined the Osteopathic Medicine Committee to help expand awareness of the DO pathway within the AANHPI community and strengthen connections between students, physicians, and pre-meds. Before medical school, I worked as a Clinical Research Supervisor, where I helped build mentorship programs and supported others in their professional growth. I’m excited to bring that same spirit of collaboration and advocacy to APAMSA through outreach, event planning, and mentorship initiatives in this in inaugural role.
